Individual Membership
SFTE is many things. A community of flight test professionals, an association for member representation, a resource for technical content, and the representative of your profession. There are the many benefits that come with your membership, including:

Membership Options
Multiple membership options for all levels of experience are available. Membership of the society is open to all working or interested in the fields of test operations, analysis, instrumentation and data systems.

Membership Categories
Our basic membership categories are listed below. For information on the higher levels of membership available to long term SFTE members please visit our Membership Upgrades page.
Student
Current college or university student enrolled in the sciences, mathematics or engineering
Affiliate
Meet one of the following two criteria:
- Engaged in an activity, possess scientific attainments or have practical experience which qualifies as cooperation with flight test engineering activities.
- A designated representative from a corporate member.
Associate
Engaged in flight test engineering and meet one of the following three criteria:
- Bachelor of Science or post-graduate degree in engineering or in a physical science.
- Bachelor in a field other than engineering or physical science and at least 2 years experience in engineering.
- Degree from a university, college or technical school and at least 4 years experience in engineering.
Member
Primarily engaged and experienced in flight test engineering, and meet one of the following four criteria:
- Hold a post-graduate degree in engineering or in a physical science and at least 1 year experience in flight test engineering.
- Bachelor of Science in engineering or in a physical science and at least 2 years experience in flight test engineering.
- Bachelor degree in a field other than engineering or a physical science and at least 4 years experience in flight test engineering.
- No degree but at least 7 years experience in flight test engineering.
