Seattle Chapter Supports Elementary STEM Night

Members Tom Esser and Kevin Welch from the Seattle Chapter shared their love of aviation with the students of John Rogers Elementary School during the school's STEM Night event. Students learned how to make paper airplanes and then tested their designs by seeing whose airplane flew the straightest, farthest, and fastest. Tom and Kevin enjoyed teaching the students about their favorite airplanes, and sharing with them how the forces of flight affect a plane's performance. The students left happy with handfuls of airplane stickers, coloring pages, and successfully tested paper airplanes.
